X17: The Silent Ward
X17: The Silent Ward" is a short, puzzle-driven point-and-click adventure game, entirely created by a single developer using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Be warned: this game isn’t easy and won’t hold your hand – it requires keen observation and some thinking to progress. To use items, right-click on them in your inventory and choose "use" or "combine".

Step into the role of a soul trapped in an abandoned hospital, from which you must escape by combining items and exploring interactive locations. Face unsettling puzzles, chilling effects, and a haunting atmosphere steeped in mystery. Do you dare to uncover the secrets of the X-17 experiment? This 15-30 minute prototype is dark, immersive, and built from scratch.

It took me a month of intense work to create, and shaping it – from the code to its eerie atmosphere – brought me immense satisfaction. This is my first project of this kind.

I’d be grateful for your feedback!

Hello. Tks for this game. I'm not done yet but want to bring to your attention that after a finger was cut off from the hand, it still shows 5 fingers. (wink)

EDIT: Also, when I try to use an object where it doesn't belong, the text is in Polish.

It was not too gory and nothing scary, really. Pls make part 2 longer (wink).

Be well.

Nice game and idea but the lock code parts was a bit hard. You should continue this game and maybe with real art (not AI generated).

Keep up the good work !

Hi!

Thanks a lot for your kind words – they mean the world to me! 😊 I’m really glad you liked the game and the idea. Your feedback is super important to me because it helps me see the project from a fresh perspective.

About the lock code – you’re right, it might be a bit tricky. I wanted players to have to think a little, as overly easy puzzles could take away that thrilling feeling. But I’ll definitely keep your comment in mind and try to better balance the difficulty in future updates, maybe by adding subtle hints.

As for continuing the game – I’d love to keep developing X17! This is a project I’m working on as a hobby and to learn programming, so to move forward, I’d need a bit more interest and support from players. So far, over 1000 people have played, which makes me incredibly happy, but I’m still hoping for more ratings and feedback to keep me motivated. 😄

Regarding the graphics – I totally agree with you 100%! The AI-generated art isn’t exactly what I dreamed of. I’d love for the game to have a unique style with hand-drawn assets, as that really boosts immersion. Unfortunately, working solo, creating everything from scratch – from art to animations to level design – would take a huge amount of time and effort. I’m still learning and trying to find a balance between quality and what I can manage on my own. Maybe in the future, I’ll team up with an artist or switch to a game engine like Unity, where it’s easier to find ready-made assets and I can focus more on gameplay.

Creating games is a true passion for me, but it’s also a huge lesson in patience and time management. Every piece of feedback like yours shows me what I can improve and keeps me motivated to continue. Thanks again!

Best regards,
Maciej (wspieramit.pl)
